Current and Incoming Culinary and Hospitality Students Encouraged To Apply by May 15, 2021 Deadline
Max Cares Foundation, Inc. announced it is now accepting applications for the charitable organization’s scholarships for graduating high school or currently enrolled students pursuing a secondary education in culinary arts or hospitality management during the 2021-2022 school year. The application, requirements and more information are available online at www.maxcaresfoundation.org/scholarships/ with an application deadline of May 15, 2021.
Applicants are eligible to receive up to $2,500 in funds to be used toward their Culinary Arts or Hospitality educational expenses. In 2020, five students from the Greater Hartford and Greater Springfield communities were provided scholarships.
Max Cares Foundation President Rich Rosenthal states, “It’s an understatement to say the hospitality industry was hit hard by the pandemic. Max Cares Foundation is stepping up to help develop the next generation of leaders in a field that is going to be rebuilt and reenvisioned over the next several years.”
Max Cares Foundation Scholarship Requirements
Applicants must be from the Greater Hartford or Greater Springfield area and a high school senior in good standing, eligible for graduation the same year as the scholarship application and seeking to earn a secondary degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality oriented program. Students currently enrolled in a secondary culinary arts or hospitality-oriented program are also eligible. Previous MCF scholarship recipients who are continuing their education are able to reapply.
MCF scholarships may be used at any accredited college, university, or trade school providing training in culinary and hospitality fields. Funds must be used within 12 months of this grant and can be utilized to defray tuition, supplies, room or board. Max Cares Foundation reserves the right to pay the Institution directly.
Interested Students Must Submit The Following:
A fully completed application, found on the Foundation’s website
A school transcript evidencing a minimum 2.5 GPA or progress towards achieving the required GPA
A typed essay of between 250 – 500 words describing why you are applying for this scholarship, your affiliation with the culinary and/or hospitality industry, if any, and your career goals.
A letter of recommendation from an educator, counselor or employer. Family members are ineligible.
