Northend Agent’s Newspaper has committed to amplifying the voices of Hartford’s urban community as well as its businesses, community leaders, educators, and youth. If you are committed to social justice issues, have an inspiring and/or informative story to tell, or are well-versed in current events (local, national, and international), can meet deadlines, and have a keen outlook and voice, we’d love to hear from you.
Northend Agent’s is currently seeking strong (paid) writers to contribute to our print and online publications. Black writers and non-Black writers of color, especially, are strongly encouraged to submit work. Northend Agent’s only considers and accepts previously unpublished works.
We want thought-provoking, explicative, well-written, and original content. When submitting work, please adhere to the following guidelines when pitching:
- DO NOT send completed OpEds with pitches.
- DO send an email with the subject line “PITCH” and a very brief summary of your topic.
- The body of your email should include a brief but thorough introduction to your piece and be no more than ONE paragraph (250 words) containing a synopsis of your article idea, OpEd topic or viewpoint.
- A very short bio (pic and social media information are optional).
- Writing samples or link(s) to previously published works.
If you do not hear from us, please do not re-submit your work. Northend Agent’s will be in touch with you within 5 business days if your pitch is a good fit for our publication.
Northend Agents is news for those who like to stay informed, so send in your work and let’s keep informing the masses and encouraging interesting conversations!
