Royal, Radiant, and Unapologetic: A Love Letter to Black Women

By Sharon McCoy, Northend Agent’s

Black African-American Queens, we are magic. Our bodies, hair, style, careers, and, most importantly, inner strength are undeniable forces in this world. But let’s be clear: we are not here to save the world while it sets itself on fire. This is not our fight.

For too long, we have carried burdens that were never ours to hold, poured into cups that never poured back, and stretched ourselves thin to meet expectations that were never meant to serve us. Now is the time to reclaim our peace, softness, and divine feminine energy. We are not mules. We are not martyrs. We are women who deserve to rest, thrive, and be adorned with love and joy.

This Is a Hard Season—But You Are the Resistance

Your very existence is resistance. You do not have to shout about your resistance. You do not have to prove it. Your bold, unapologetic existence alone defies expectations, limits, and the abolition of the DEIA effort that never included us! You do not have to do any of those things in a world that constantly asks you to shrink, explain, or justify yourself. Being here, breathing, and thriving on your terms is a revolutionary act.

March: Celebrating Femme Accomplishments

As we embrace our divine energy, let us also recognize the power of our accomplishments. March is a time to honor and celebrate the achievements of African-American women—past, present, and future. From the pioneers who broke barriers to the modern-day queens redefining success, we take pride in every milestone. Our contributions shape industries, influence culture, and change the world. This month, we uplift and acknowledge our brilliance in all forms.

Breathe, Hydrate, Nourish

Take a deep breath, sis. Hydrate. Eat water-based foods that cleanse your soul—fruits, greens, and the rich, nourishing sustenance that our ancestors thrived on. Your body is sacred. It deserves rest. It deserves nourishment. It deserves to be treated with the same care and intention you pour into others. You radiate from the inside out when you fuel yourself with what your body truly needs.

Press Into Love That Feeds You

Lean into the relationships that nurture you. The ones that see you, hold you, and honor you. If someone left—let them go. Even if they share your blood, we will not chase love. We will not beg for attention. We will live in the reality that honors us, not the illusions that drain us. Community is essential, but not all companies are good. Surround yourself with those who pour into you, uplift your spirit, and genuinely celebrate your success.

Recharging in Sacred Anonymity

It is okay to retreat. To disappear into yourself, meditate, reset your nervous system, and heal your heart and root chakras. You do not have to be available to everyone all the time. You do not have to answer the calls of chaos—find solace in quiet spaces, in solitude, in the stillness that brings clarity. The world will tell you that being strong means never breaking, but the real strength is knowing when to step away and when to refill your cup.

Therapy, Joy, and Living Boldly

We will go to therapy. We will buy the dope shoes. We will try new things, love freely, and embrace the unknown. There is no shame in joy—no guilt in abundance. You will offer no apologies for prioritizing ourselves- you deserve the space that you are in. Therapy is not a weakness; it is a power move. Unpack the generational trauma, unlearn the cycles of over-giving, and step fully into your healed self.

Joy is your birthright, and happiness is your portion. There is power in smiling, laughing loudly, and dancing without reason. Your ancestors endured so you could revel in joy, so take up space and bask in it without restraint.

Living in Our Royal Divine Femme Energy

We are not decisive because the world demands it—we are strong because we are divine. Our softness is strength. Our laughter is resistance. Our joy is radical. Our existence is enough.

We do not have to prove our worth or break our backs to be valued. We can be gentle and vulnerable. We can be everything and nothing at once and still be powerful beyond measure.

And let’s not forget our beauty—our shea butter radiance, our full lips, and our heads divinely adorned with crowns, whether bald, braided, wigged, or natural. Every way we wear our hair is a statement, a legacy, a reflection of our power. We do not conform; we set the standard.

We sit boldly upon our thrones as African Queens, embracing our divine power and let the world adjust. We bask in our beauty, grace, and limitless potential. Our story does not begin with slavery. We are the roots of all the nations of the continent of Africa—descendants of kings and queens, innovators, healers, and warriors. This is where our strength and femininity are birthed. Our legacy is rich, our history is deep, and our future is boundless.

We are royalty. And we reign accordingly.
