Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel and Co-Chair Bob Paduchik released the following statement celebrating February as Black History Month:
“As February marks the beginning of Black History Month, we celebrate and honor the contributions African Americans have made to the fabric of our nation and to the Republican Party,” said Chairwoman McDaniel. “The Republican Party is a Party for all Americans, and to that end we are working to expand school choice, create economic opportunities in every neighborhood, and listen to the concerns of all voters. Our focus will squarely remain on making sure Americans of all backgrounds can achieve their dreams, and understanding that we are stronger as a nation when we embrace diversity. Whether it was the courage of Harriet Tubman, the inventiveness of George Washington Carver, or the moral clarity of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., African Americans have richly shaped the American story, and we are proud to celebrate that heritage all month long.”
“We honor the role that African Americans continue to play in shaping our great nation,” said Co-Chair Bob Paduchik. “We will continue our work to strengthen all communities–urban, suburban and rural–and our new president will lead us all in that direction.”
