Owl Enrichment Students Support Nationwide Walk Out By Michelle R. McFarland

On Wednesday March 14, 2018, students at Hartford Public High School participated in the nationwide walk out in honor of the seventeen lives lost in Parkland Florida last month.

Students carried signs to convey their feeling about the gun laws that are in effect today. They want change and they want it now.

The students entered the Field House and were silent during the reading of the names of the Parkland victims to show their respect for the entire 17 minutes.

Many were visible moved to tears proving they were aware of the significance of the walkout. Many expressed the fear of what could happen in Hartford schools.

This is clearly an indication of just how in tuned the Teens are to the world around them.

The reaction and support from the students sheds light on the importance of providing students with a platform to have their voices heard.

Well done Hartford Public High School Students, Staff and Principal Michael Maziarz.
