Keeping The Faith- Giving Up Is Not An Option! By Shenika Lewis

How strong is your faith? Many times the storms of life come fast and hard. Everything seems to all happen at the same time. The funny thing is, it can start with something simple, like waking up late. Has that ever happened to you? You wake up late and the rest of your day doesn’t go the way you hoped. How about when you have a bill due and not sure how you are going to pay it. You figure that out and three more bills come and they are all due. Work is not going right, food supply low, you maybe just got bad news about a close friend or relative, too much negative energy around you, church don’t seem the same, and its making you feel hopeless? What do you do?

All of these things can consume you, depress you, paralyze you, and make you want to give up. The good news is- your faith will keep you. We have the power to turn it around. The easiest thing you can do is give up. Do not give up. Believe that Help is on its way.  While you are waiting on your victory, remember that the bible gives us a scripture for every situation in our life.

Pray, you must pray, believe and trust that the Lord will hear your prayer.  As you are waiting on the Lord, think of the good things. Because whatever you are going through, always know that it could be worse.  The bible even gives you what to think of- you have already come so far, right? Why give up now? Think of every valley, every trial, and every tribulation that is now behind you. How Great is our God!

James 2:1-4 consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.  Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

 Philippians 4:8-9 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.  Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

 Life takes its twist and turns but we cannot dwell on those things. Dwelling on these things will surely make you want to give up. Keeping the faith in the Lord will strengthen you. Think on how everything went wrong and how out of nowhere, everything fell in place for you. You are stronger than you think. When you are feeling like you do not have the strength. Remember The Lord said; surrender it all, he will carry it for you. He loves you so much and he do not want you give up!

Mathew 11:28-30”Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Giving up is not an option. Everything will get better. I pray that you find a place with the Lord, remember all of your victories. Hold on help is on the way.

 Philippians 2:1-3 Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.

May The Lord continue to bless us all.
